Song Production and Development

Not all gifted songwriters are strong and confident enough musicians to expand their original ideas into full arrangements. Often a lack of technical and or theoretical knowledge will prevent their songs ever seeing the light of day.

I've heard many great chord sequences and melodies from people who aren't really very good at playing.

I have also worked with many singer songwriters who don't have a band at their disposal.

I accept projects in almost any format and stage of development - from a guide vocal recorded on a phone with no chord sequence, to a studio produced semi -mixed multi- track wav file, (and most things between those two extremes).

I can take these initial song ideas and progress them on to a format that will present the writer's work in the best possible light and maximise their potential for publishing.

In addition to the instrumentation, programming and recording that I can supply, I also have access to an extensive range of top flight professional musicians and broadcast quality mixing and mastering studios.

Song development is quick and cost effective, with the writer being kept up to date with each stage of the process- ensuring the perfect result.

We were introduced to Nick by our producer George Shilling and asked him to add some steel and banjo to one track on our upcoming album. We were so impressed we asked Nick to work on a second track and this time also add mandolin. The results are simply amazing. Nick's playing and composition have taken the tracks to a whole new level.

We can't recommend Nick highly enough. This is quality musicianship with real understanding and feeling for the pieces and undertaken and delivered with true professionalism and an amazing speed of turn around. We can't wait to send the new tracks to our connections at national and local radio thanks to Nick's input.

Jules Clark & Love Street

I've just placed two (Contemporary Country Crossover) songs with Nick and from simple vocal/guitar scratch mp3s he's interpreted my brief very well indeed. Not only has he come up with some excellent parts for acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, steel and bass, but has sympathetically worked around our main vocal transforming our basic ideas into some great tracks. My writing partner has since added drums and keys. Hopefully we'll be doing more with Nick in the near future with the view to getting our songs published in Nashville.
